COUNCIL SUPPLIER ADOPTION PROGRAMME! -
Central Government is encouraging the use of technology in business, with all public sector organisations reviewing ways of trading with their suppliers electronically.
As Bath & North East Somerset Council is committed to streamlining the tendering, implementation and monitoring of contracts, it has chosen ‘Supply the South West Portal’ as its preferred solution. To find out more about the Council's Supplier Adoption Programme please come along to the Guildhall on the 7th April where you will be able to meet the procurement team and view the Council's new process of procurement. BUSINESSES GIVEN MORE TIME TO PAY BUSINESS RATES! -
The Government has announced proposals to allow businesses to spread the payment of this year's increase in Business Rates over three years.
Business rate payers will be able to defer up to 60% of both the annual increase in business rates and increases which relate to the end of the 2005 transitional reviewing scheme. The deferal will only be available in respect of rates that have not already been paid.
The Department for Communities and Local Government has produced a (PDF) fact sheet  which provides more information and the answers to questions businesses are likely to ask.

This is a business-to-business section, providing information on using the facilities and companies within Bath and North East Somerset. It includes access to a new online business directory.

Local Business Organisations

This section lists and describes the services and functions of local business support organisations, including the Council, Business Link branch, Federation of Small Business and local Chambers of Commerce in Bath and North East Somerset.
